I don't get it. Why compete with themselves. They already have the durango and a bunch of suv jeeps. The whole point of ram splitting off from dodge is to be exclusively pickups... To be fair though, they do have the promaster which is not a pickup.

I've never heard that before. Is this something RAM published?

They do need a competitive product in the full-sized SUV market to challenge Tahoes, Suburbans, and Expeditions. They offered the Grand Wagoneer to compete with Escalades and Navigators.

Wasn't the whole point of the 2009 bankruptcy split of Ram from Dodge to make Ram a strictly truck brand? WTH would they go back and blend it again?

Dodge and Ram was split by Chrysler to separate the performance oriented Dodge cars and SUVs from RAM trucks and commercial vehicles.
Ford and GM are the two main manufacturers of full sized SUVs, and they sell a bunch of them. Why wouldn't Ram want to get in that market.

This thing sounds like it's body-on-frame, truck based. SUVs grew out of trucks, for the most part. GMC started out as trucks only, and sells SUVs. If they start selling a unibody Rampage mini-pickup will we all come unglued? LOL

Ram split from dodge so it could be sold off when Daimler Benz was ready to cut Chrysler loose.
