Sorry for the quality of the picture, but does anyone know what the disconnected wire is for? It's red. I looked up the color codes for dodge and it says red wires are used for: Memory, Ignition, and different speakers in the cab. I reconnected it and havent seen or noticed any differences in driving, idling, etc. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. It's right next to the tranny, I thought it was a ground for something, but i can't figure it out.

Do you have a 4x4?

That looks like one of the vacuum lines coming off the t-case to the front axle.

Yes, it's 4x4. There is black line right next to it as well. I haven't gone wheeling in the truck or anything yet either if that helps.

Yep, that tells me all I needed to know.

Figure out how to hook the two ends back together, or, so you know how it works, take it out on some dirt (or pavement if you're careful) and put the t-case in 4Hi. If you don't get a light after rolling a few feet, that line is your problem (which it is. lol).

The line is hooked back up, and I got the light. Thanks for the info! Is there a way to protect those lines for when I do start wheeling again? It's a little scary that those lines just hang there with no protection at all. All they do is "pop" right back on for lack of better description.

Good that you got it working now.

I honestly don't know of a way to protect them, I've never seen any fixes or methods mentioned before.
If it makes you feel any better (yeah right. lol), mine is setup the exact same way as far as where they're located on the chassis.
