My buddies van had the wiring chewed off the fuel pump harness, exposed them all but all were still connected and I changed out the plug.
It starts and works UNTIL I press the brake pedal….. the fuel pump literally loses power when I press the brake pedal I confirmed with my ear.
When rats got the wires it blew the fuel pump fuse, so they’re replaced and relays replaced.
But why you’ll the brake light being activated kill power to the fuel pump??
Since all wires were still intact I replaced them one at a time. So I’m sure they’re correct, the fuel level in dash is off by half. The wires number 1 and 2 in the attachment are as labeled, could getting those two backwards cause this?
The colors do not match the illustration in the oem harness, but I believe they are wired correctly.
Any thoughts??
