ok so after getting an initial tune done i was surprised i didn't have to change much from being flat. I did have to bring the tweeter level down a bit since they are in the dash and very bright being pa equipment.
Now now little addjustments here and there should do it and ill be set till i get a wild hair and change things. Oh and speaking of changing i have come to realize i miss regular speakers instead of having pa. Just did an install in a buddies tacoma and just the effortless way the alpines mids played deep and tweets were very smooth to the ears made me want to switch mine out that day. So keep a look out i will be finding a mid range set of comps and running them active.

I am thinking long and hard about those but there is a component set that I want to try from Skar and depending how those sound I may or may not swap out to HAT.

I'd skip Hat. Look at the new Illusion stuff. It's killing it at shows all over the place.

^^^ cant speak from experience but from what i hear illusion is whats up at the moment. Theyre a little out of my price range right now, but if i see a set of the carbon 8"s at a decent price im gonna jump on em. Over on DIYMA classifieds i beleive they have a few of the 6" components for sale.

Right Brad and I've seen the Illusion stuff, kinda pricey at the moment but I will keep it in mind.

The reality is, even though it may be considered pricey, if you want the best you're going to have to spend the money. That is if true SQ is your goal. If it's just a loud build to sound decent there are any number of products out there that will do the job, PA stuff included.
I actually consider the Illusion Carbon components on the lower end of the price scale for high end equipment.

This is true but the thing is for me I can't justify it right now, I would like the best of the best but its not in the cards, maybe when I get side business off the ground but thats still a long way down the road.
Oh another thought anyone see the Audio Frog is taking off?

I'm sure it will be a while before Andy has any product to actually sell. I talked to Grizz a couple of weeks ago, they're moving forward but it's a slow process.
I've been asked to join Team Focal so I won't be running much gear outside of Orca's umbrella.

Good to see that they are moving forward. Awesome to here about Team Focal should be a damn good time. I wish they had a few events in my neck of the woods but seems like everyone around here just wants to have loud subs and thats it.

I would love to try the Illusion Carbon 12 XL...hearing great things, but I can't justify selling my Arc Blacks for them.
In my neck of the woods....everything is big box shops too....I think my dealer is the only high end SQ guy in town, but you only need one.
Trying to set up a regional event/meet this summer for the SQ guys from diyma....we'll see how that pans out

Down here in louisiana, there are about ZERO dealers (that I know of) that sells nice high end gear. Theres one that sells Focal at insane mark ups and insane stupidity when it comes to SQ and proper instalation.

Id love if there were some SQ meetups around me because ive never sat in a really well done SQ vehicle. Around here, the louder and more you cant breathe the better.

Same up here man there is one Focal dealer that I know of and one Audison dealer at huge markup and from what I've seen and heard from them they can repeat specs on the box and that is about it. No one can tune anything but subs which is annoying.

I run the C12XL. I know a Team Arc Audio guy that left them this year to make the switch from Arc Black's to Illusion XL's. It's the best sub I've heard in 28+ years in car audio. Better than the Morel Ultimo, better than the Dynaudio Esotar 1200, better than everything for pure SQ systems.

i've only been to one SQ meet and its unbelievable to what people do the their cars/trucks.

Go see Cory Himel at Prestige in Metarie, back in the day was one of the best SQ guys there was.

Yes sir, had the old XS and ZR Kicker amps, Ive known Cory for about 25+ years...he's won many World Championships in that van.

So fun fact about putting an exhaust back on your truck is you can hear all the cab noises again. When you deaden your truck it does a great job of killing vibrations but doesn't do enough to kill road noise. So here comes some OVERKILL mat.
