I’m thinking about putting 38’s a 6” lift and new gears. what’s the take on going with 5.13’s
It’s an 18 2500 4x4 for those who don’t know me and the Blue Mule

It’s an 18 2500 4x4 for those who don’t know me and the Blue Mule

Go for it but you will absolutely need 5.13’s and nothing less. If you’re going that far I would even put some money into some power mods. Programmer or somthing. Nothing too crazy but 38’s and a lift are going to put a lot of stress on that drive train. I can absolutely handle it but it definitely has a good idea to help it out.

Side not: start stocking up on wheelbearings and linkage consumables[emoji23]

I’m on 35’s and 4.10’s now. I know that’s an inch n a half over stock. So maybe I’ll just go with a set of tires then and 4” lift. I don’t do as much off road as I want but that’ll change.

I had a 58 *****’s CJ3B with 5.33’s and a 3 speed manual. Stock wheels with military NDT’s. Man, that thing was a blast to drive! Wish I had never sold it. Gears make a vehicle so much more fun to drive.

The 66rfe has the same gear ratio’s as the 68rfe in the cummins. That is why it is a dog.

It NEEDS re-geared

Even if I stayed with stock 33” id re-gear to 4.56.
