Ready to pull the trigger 2500 Laramie

Hi All,

First post for me. I’ve been following Rams for several years (since I realized I’d be better off with a 3/4 ton truck).

I’m about ready to pull the trigger and trade my 2010 Yukon XL for a:

2015 Ram 2500 Laramie
Cummins
~3” lift (dealer isn’t sure of the exact lift)
Auto drop steps
Leather
6 seat
Crew Cab

Any specific tips I should be looking for outside of the standard used truck check list?

How many miles are on it?
Be sure to get all maintenance records according to the vin# and see when the exhaust service was done too it can be super expensive for the service if you have to have it done.

I couldn’t make up my mind on them so I did have a thread and closed it.

Yep. I’d carfax it get and check records. Look for signs of a tuner or exhaust work. I love used trucks but used diesels I’m a little more weary of. You’ll love the 2500 and love the Cummins. Just look her over real good check everything. Taking it to a diesel shop and paying for a shake down could be worth it.

To the OP...just check the service & repair history with a Ram dealer. Inspect it as you would any other used vehicle, then check KBB.com for pricing in your local area.

The Cummins is mostly bullet proof, but the exhaust and emissions are not. Check out all emissions equipment and have a computer scan run for stored codes.
