Well my F-150 had rear air and the dog misses it after our long walks and she gets back in the truck...so much so that she stand on the console with her face in front of the front A/C vents. So I decided to put in FACTORY A/C vents and duct work...giving her the A/C she craves and adding one more mod to the truck...here's some pictures...first I order the only rear console with A/C I could find..it was black..got it on E-bay for 50 bucks..

Then I order the 3 sections of factory duct work .. they had to be ordered because the stocking priority of them is ZERO since its not a part that breaks and very few add it to their trucks...once here I removed the top and sides of the console...real east...found the spot on the factory duct work that had a line similar to a cut on the dotted line where the new duct will attach and cut the hole

Then attached all the duct work...the first piece was a little tricky and I found a trick to installing it after 29 mins of trying...the rest was a piece of cake

Then snapped back on the new rear end cap WITH the A/C ducts..oh and I put in a ciggerette lighter instead of the 12v power port...it holds things in better. And just like that I had factory rear A/C... I love it and so will the dog

Thanks...it matches better than it looks in the picture...but still a shade off..not that I care..heck if I had to leave it black I could have lived with it since you only see it from the back but as it is I'm pretty happy with it. After all they only make so many colors in Plastic cote paints...it was a productive day since while I had the console apart I ran an extra set of RCA cables from the lockpick so now I can add anything I want to it with out having to plug in at the radio..now I just plug in at the glove box...so it was a win/win day as the yuppies would say :)

Good man.....your doggy looks happy. Our corgi parks in front of the rear vents when we travel, so I know it's a luxury for dogs.

My corgi loves the vents as well, both in the home and the vehicles.

Sally sleeps in the bathroom in the summer because the A/C vent is easy to get to and the floor is cold vinyl instead of warm carpet... I actually bought a 12v fan to plug in the rear of the console...but it was a bit noisy . And without the A/C in the rear like my old truck and with the fan not there in the middle sally would stand with her front paws on the console(which if you check the forum you'll see I reupholstered for her) and her nose to the front vents which really wasn't all that safe..i like her popping up front while I wait at a light but not while I'm driving...now she's comfortable ...haha the wife says I should treat her as good :)

Looks great! Do you have part #'s for the ducts? Also, where did you buy the 3 pieces that go in the console?

Other than the actual back of the console you'll need........ part 68049979AA - this is the piece that attaches to the existing duct after you cut the hole in it and goes from the duct to the floor....

part 55056931AB - this is the short middle piece that connects the rear duct work to the front part above

part 68053384AA - this is the duct work that gets mounted to the bottom of the center console and connects to the vents on the rear of the console..this is the largest piece at the rear.
ALL these parts are special order only since they are not parts normally needed and replaced and therefore not a item normally in stock... but it only takes the dealer a few days to get them from the national warehouse..

Will this work if you know of with the shifter in console?
Thanks

my shifter is in the console also...... the shifter never comes into play as far as installation....actually the install is pretty easy but you need patience .... the hardest part is cutting the hole in the existing vent and attaching that first tube... its not hard but its cramped..

Thank you
My Jeep had a vent and I thought that was better for my dog to. My dog travels in a crate so even less air. I did try him out and he didn't feel secure he prefers the crate -den safety. I have a fan I used in my V10 but haven't figured out a mount for my Flamin Hemi. Around how much did this cost?
Again thank you.
Enjoy the Blue Moon tonight.

actually it wasn't too bad cost wise...I bought the rear console on e-bay for 50 bucks... the 4 sections of factory duct work ran another 80 bucks... I was going to check the bone yards but in todays world bone yards aren't what they use to be... because of the EPA yards here in Cleveland strip off what they think will sell and crush the rest... there's no yard anymore... everything is inside on racks... and these ducts are never pulled.

I realized this morning that it's a moot point for me since I have the jump seat. So I guess I'm out of luck unless I replace the jump seat with a console and even then I'm not sure if the parts will be there to hook everything up.
