Let's say my dream truck is on the lot and has everything I want except the 3.92 lsd.
Would that be something I could work out as a dealer install? Like would that be feasible to swap out the gears?

Not unless they are SUPER ambitious, I wouldn't think that's feasible/realistic. I've had dealers give me a hard time about swapping wheels out, gear swap like that's a lot more involved obviously. And if its a 4wd, makes it that much more difficult.

Best, go to that Dealer if U have a good relationship and Order truck how U want it, IMHO.....

U could always take the "build" sheet from yer dream truck and follow it, but add the rear and gearing U want.......

Added: have dealer search out and find truck with gearing U want and they do dealer swaps all the time...

It was a ***** 'n giggles thought.
I know I gotta order if I want "my" truck. I'm in a pinch though. Need a truck asafp. Waiting the month or sometimes more is a real nightnare for me. My dealer was pushing a truck they already had in stock because it had everything I asked for aside from the rear. And by pushing, he was trying to get me into a truck asap because he knows my situation.

Looks like I need to suck it up, take my chances and order the damn thing.

If 4x4, the front gears are welded in

I think that's the right decision, just when you're spending this much money you want to get exactly what you want. Or worst case you settle on something that's easy/not expensive to change out, which in this case it would be neither easy or cheap.

Yeah. Gonna order it. I'm just anxious.
No truck for over a month now, and at the worst possible time. Now probably another month waiting for a new one.
I always have this fear Im gonna be "that guy" who's order is delayed like 6 months for no good reason.

Can't blame you there, I've never ordered before but I'd imagine I'd have the same concerns.

This the exact reason, when I traded up from MY 15 ED to MY 19 Bighorn, I picked something in lot that was doable and close to what I as looking for. Few options not on lower trim, But did not want to go another 5-10K for a few options. And the red beast spends most of the time parked, so I be good. Guess if I needed fancy 4-wheeling, I can use the other options, see pic, LOL...

This be 4 something, as in 4 legging, LMAO...

I would definitely overlook some minor things missing that I could easily add, but gears have always been a deal breaker for me with the Rams. Had to have the 3.92 LSD or it wasn't any use to look any further. First thing I would do for every Ram I ever looked at was pull up the build sheet and check what gears it had. Not for towing or anything else, merely the performance. I've had several cars with gearing ranging from 2.73-3.23 and am not willing to settle in that range anymore. Although I'm not their typical buyer, I've been going for RCSB's because they are the best looking/handling and immediately put an exhaust and performance tune in.

That being said it does suck they don't allow a little more flexibility with certain options, having to purchase full packages to get them. Understand where you're coming from on that.

I gotcha know where U R at. Just for me, I find the:
8-Spd Auto 8HP75 Trans (Buy-US)
Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
5.7L V8 HEMI MDS VVT Engine

works for me... I do not do a lot of Mods ne more. Gonna put a 60" light bar in rear maybe or a small led strip for back up lighting, a Bed cover and bed rug, dat about it. Low end: Boird, LOL.

Good luck with yer mods N stuff.....

It's certainly very good to know exactly what you want going in, sounds like you have a pretty good platform there. On this last one I bought my requirements were similar drive train wise, always need the hemi and the 8 speed, and of course the gears. Otherwise I also always go for the color matched sports and usually just do those simple mods and enjoy them. Although I have to confess to also doing lighting upgrades in the headlights/fog lights and added light bar cause its nice being able to see deer 50 feet away from the road rather than only being able to see them once they get into the road. Then just need some good tires and I enjoy it setup like that til its time to do it all over again.

Good luck with yours as well! I'll be looking to get into a 5th gen in a couple of years and enjoy keeping up on what's going on with them in here.

Decision 100% made in favor of 2500 with the 6.4

Now I'm losing my mind over 3.73 or 4.10's. Pros/cons for both.
It's making me insane. I need to make a decision this week. Ugh.
