So my dash lit up that my right brake light was out. Assuming that it was I picked up some new bulbs and replaced them. The bulb didn't actually look burnt out and the filament was solid but since I was already there I replaced it. About a week later I got the same warning, what I don't know is if it's a new warning or if I needed to clear the old one. Anyone else have an issue with this in the past?

Did you check your 3rd (center high mounted) light? In can cause a light out code. The warning resets on its own when problem is gone.

I second what lpennock said, check the third brake light. Twice I had the brake light out message and both times it turned out to be the third brake light.

Mine gave me the right brake light out warning on Thursday, yet I can see when backing into the garage that the light is not out. The warning only comes on at engine start, then goes away. I will go out and check the 3rd light.
