Rear Differential 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4

So heard a humming noise coming from the drivetrain and dealer tells me the rear differential is shot . Still waiting for all the parts after 10 days. Truck has 125,000 miles. A little early for a rear differential to go bad isn't it ? Thanks for any input.

There was issues and a recall with the pinion nut loosening.
I don’t remember exactly when ,but it was close to that year .
I upgraded to a tru-trac and am very happy with that . Also swapped to 4.56 gears , to make things on the transmission a little easier, since it has the 65rfe.
I thrash on it regularly and it works great .
The tires do not appreciate it, but still have smoke left in them.
