Hello everyone! New here. I have a 2012 Ram 1500 - farm truck with a 3.92 (ZF) rear diff. It is starting to go out. I found one from a 2009 Ram 1500, but its a (AAM/Corporate). Would anyone know if I can directly swap in the whole diff assembly without much or any modification? They look very similar, but dont know if the mounting brackets, sensors, etc match up.

No.

And the 2012 Ram 1500 rear axle is unique in several ways.

What do you mean “it’s starting to go out”..??
Is the differential making noise?
Or is the axle end-bearings making noise? (common for that year)
How many miles on it?
Is it a Limited-Slip ? or no..?

Okay, thanks for the info. It has 270k on it. The rear diff is making a bad grinding noise at all speeds. Does get louder when decelerating, and steady when cruising. I figure its a pinion bearing going out. But was trying to see if the 2010 rear diff would swap over as it'd be much cheaper, than rebuilding the current diff. Appreciate the help though!
