1. No, different platform and on top of that 2500's went to coils for 2014
2. Why?
Your right I forgot about coils. And I have an open dif and can’t stand it anymore so I fogured with a 1/2 ton rear end I’ll have posy and never have to worry about anything
Nope I meant 2500 I have a buddy with a 4th gen 1500 who swapped to 2500 and is very happy with itYou originally said 2500, based on that statement I assume you originally meant 1500?

So I shouldn’t even try junkyard shopping? I was thinking about just picking up a complete assembly and having it rebuiltOk, then why did you say this:
Either way, as I see it you have two options here. Get a good aftermarket LSD for your 9.25 or switch to an SRT D60. Pros and cons of both:
9.25
Pros - doesn't require any adaptation, gear sets available through 4.56 and options for LSD install
Cons - expense of install of gear set (if wanted) and/or LSD on top of purchase price
For what it's worth, my '74 Monaco had a 9.25 rear behind a 440, it's a stout enough piece in the trucks just the factory LSD would grenade and destroy it; you were saved from that carnage with an open rear lol
SRT D60
Pros - 9.75" ring gear, it's quite strong (stood up to the torque of Viper engine manual trans launches) plus the axle comes with a stout factory LSD (if it hasn't been abused too much), almost a factory bolt in
Cons - not quite a complete factory bolt in, requires a custom driveshaft to mate with RFE, only available with 4.10 in RC (factory lowered) or 4.56 in QC (factory normal height)
Would lockers be the way to go then?Ok, then why did you say this:

Good point any brand preference of a ddt?You can do that, but look at the cost of buying the diff and the parts/labor for rebuild and compare it to just having a DTT or similar installed in your existing diff.
I wouldn't do a locker on something that sees consistent street duty.
DTT = Detroit TruetracGood point any brand preference of a ddt?
Alright great looks like that’s my plan thanks alotI second the truetrac. helical "LSD" are great for on road performance. Plus doesn't need additive in the gear oil, minimal maintenance since there's no clutch pack. I put one in my GM 12 bolt when I built my chevelle and now have on in my 73 D100 8 3/4 rear end.
