My wife was rear-ended and it pushed the passenger side exhaust a foot forward. May need a new exhaust.

She liked the sound of the stock exhaust but may tolerate something a little louder. I'd like to get something in stainless steel.

I've looked around, but I'm open to suggestions.

Of course the person who hit her was a 20yo with expired insurance and my deductible is $1K.

Thanks.

If it bent where it goes over the axle, you may just need $50 of tubing and a new tip. Obviously I don't know that without looking but if you liked it before I wouldn't write off the whole system just yet.

Also: Sue him.

I will try to sue her but doubtful a 20yo has anything. She let her insurance expire in 2024 an didn't bother telling the cop. She renewed it 2 days after the accident so I am SOL.

I'm not sure what you mean by "go with 5 in tips". Thanks for the Flowmaster info - the wife would hate drone.

We have a 2010 Challenger Classic in Furious Fuschia. We put Magnaflow Competition on that - she doesn't like that but it sounds way better than stock (stupid quiet).

I have Zoomers on my 392 and love them, but neither of these are daily drivers like the truck.

@DonP the 5-inch tips are the largest we can go if we just want to slide off the factory tips, which I think are 4-inch, and slide the 5" on. Also, the 5" will fill the cutouts in the rear bumper - all based on what I have seen, my exhaust is still stock.

*no matter how I typed this out it sounds like p*rn. :Big Laugh:

The 5" tips sounds cool. Any pictures? Are they factory or aftermarket? If aftermarket, which brand?

The insurance adjuster says it is $1,574 in damage. My body guy says that is a lowball. Just great.

Don't all insurance companies first pitch a low-ball offer?

Many years ago, I made out like a bandit after bauking at the low-ball offer to write off an old Toyota. I was rear-ended in a snowstorm and just wanted $1200 to fix the bumper and flashing. They offered about $1200 to write it off, claiming it was too old to fix.

I compiled a list of comparable trucks from Truck Trader, received a check for $3200, bought the truck as salvage for $50 and sold it for $1200 after stripping all the good stuff off.

Get a few quotes from other shops and send that to your insurance company.
Hopefully, they won't force you to use their choice of a cheap & craappy shop for the repairs.

This is a good shop. They took care of me just two months ago when two deer decided to jump out in front of my Challenger. He likes dealing with my insurance so I'm hopeful they will figure it out.

The hard part will be recouping the money from the person who hit us. Likely has no money. It was a 2011 Honda Accord.

Sorry this happened to wifey and you!

That's going to be many thousands to repair as it looks like a significant level of damage was incurred. Look at the tailgate alignment, rear right quarter, plus the exhaust, etc.

It will definitely need a new exhaust. It's a good thought that there is also significant exhaust damage as well. It'll need to be thoroughly checked all the way to the manifolds and there's more stuff bent for sure.

Hope wifey is okay and not hurt in any way, too!

AND YES, CONTACT THE POLICE ABOUT THIS NO INSURANCE, TOO!

I got tapped less than a month into my new ownership of my current Warlock where an Accord backed into my front bumper in the lower drivers side and put things out of alignment.

My quote for it, from three different shops was $3,000.00 to $3,700.00.
Your truck has much more damage than mine did, like a lot more!

The adjuster is a slime_ball!

They know that this is thousands in repairs ;)
It's a 2021 and this isn't just superficial damage.

Before making that decision, I would contact your own insurance. They can cover it, then sue her on your behalf to try and recover the deductible. Now, if they will fight as hard for it as you would is a different question and results vary, but they are supposed to do this if you have full coverage.

I believe I pay a bit extra on my insurance to cover uninsured drivers.
This might be a good time to review your policy and maybe call around for new policy quotes from others if your present company are being difficult about paying out.

I was with the last company for 30+ years when they decided to get more greedy.
They tried to extort me for a $500 annual increase unless I paid about $450 to have transmitters in my truck.

Then, no doubt, they would not approve of my driving habits and want to jack my rates again. I moved my truck and house insurance, and am saving money.
