Would the seat back support the weight of a person, if for instance I were to fold it down and then sleep on it?
Went hunting at the beginning of the season and the quad cab is not a comfortable place to sleep, as narrow as the seat is. The temperpedic pad I had put down didn't help the space issue any either.
That's about the only reason I personally would have any use for this mod

So I need an opinion (or several). Do you all think that a neoprene or rubber washer could hold up in this MOD?

Here's my spacer. A standard roll of electrical tape is a little more than 5/8" wide. I figure with them wrapped in electrical tape it will blend in better...

So 5/8" and even 1" spacers are not working in my 2014 quad cab. I wonder what's different on mine?

I put a nut and 3 washers for a spacer under each bolt of mine today and i unlocked the back of the seat from hits hangers while doing so. 45* bend in the seat is when the back reaches a maximum movement upward and i still need another 1/4 of an inch to get the latch to come up high enough to clear the bar on the back wall. Tomorrow I may end up taking a hacksaw and cutting a length off the hooks so they will fall over cause my seat is plenty high now and it still won't latch back over.

I'm thinking about just undoing everything and leaving it stock...

Guys can't you just remove the brackets on the back of the seat instead of putts NGOs spacers down?

if you remove those brackets the seats will fall in in the event of an accident. the mod allows the seats to still lock in position.

The old way was to reposition the brackets. Now they are welded (or riveted) and it is not so simple. Mine works great with 3/4 spacers I had machined out of bar stock at work. Without access to a machine shop a simple spacer could be made from 3/4" black iron pipe hack sawed into 3/4" long pieces. Or use stacked washers.

Hmmm... Glad I saw this! I have my rear seat out right now due to center brake light leaking and back seats full of water. I will have to do this when I re-install them.

2011, just went to the dealership today, and they don't sell a new gasket by itself...only the $55 3rd brake light assy that comes with a gasket. I am used to this malarkey with German cars, but never would have expected this from Dodge (first domestic vehicle of newer vintage)

after you did this how hard do you have to pull on your seat back to get it to go down?

Not hard at all. Just lift the bottom seat up and apply a gentle pull to the seat back. Once the hooks clear, the back will move forward.

Did this same mod to mine, using 3/4 inch nuts with an opening large enough for the bolt to fit through. I also purchased new longer bolts at the hardware because I was afraid the stock bolts may fail in a crash since the thread length screwed into the frame was greatly reduced on the stock bolts when reapplied.

There isn't a ton of room back there for storage, but man is it easier to clean the inside of the rear window with those 3 headrests folded down out of the way.

I thought all we had to do was flip the bracket's on the back wall?
