I am seriously replacing the truck just for this reason, as the last resort. I will try the suggestions posted here before that though.. Is the following a good suggestion? https://www.walmart.com/ip/BFGoodri...mifgaWzDpRL4RqWAivyPlpR4ZLal02SIaApCKEALw_wcB

I'm nowhere near experienced enough at driving in sand to comment but I can tell you that I successfully use narrow BFG KO2s in deep snow.

I would think the 275/70/18s slightly deflated would likely do the job for you but having not seen or experienced the boat launch, it's only a wild a$$ed guess.

What are others using at this boat launch for tires and 2wd or 4wd?

.

I used them in mud once (not sand), they were about 30 inches long each, and the tire kicked it off right away.
That's why they are for sang. I have also used carpet strips. Weight in the bed is most likely your best bet, but the driving surface is the issue. We had a heavy boat that we towed with a Toyota pickup in the mid 70's, and the only way we could get it up the ramp was to back down and cut the truck cross-ramp. Then there was nothing stopping us from getting a little momentum at the start, and it was an easy pull.

What is the weight of the boat & trailer, when winch was mentioned, I think they where thinking front winch and hooking to tree, another truck, not pulling the trailer up. that would work for a small trailer. maybe you need a buddy with another truck to hook on with a chain to pull your truck, spinning in sand will just bury your back wheels .
