Rear turn/brake light out

Hey all,
I've got a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 single cab that is giving me a rear right signal bulb out. I checked and it is, so I've changed the bulb and still no turn or brake light. The socket looks a little bit Brown, not sure if that could be the issue or not. I didn't unplug the battery like the Manual said to, could that be the reason why or do I need to replace the socket?

My 14 says that now and it's the 3rd brake light on the cab that's out

I recently had this problem. It turned out to be a bad socket. Broken contact. If I remember correctly it was less than $20 from the dealer and just plugs in.
