I’m sure it’s been discussed in here before but I can’t find it using the search.

I’m planning to use the rear view mirror power for my radar detector, so I need to remove the housing to get to the wires.

I’d like to do this without breaking anything. Does anyone have a link to video (or detailed step by step instructions) on how to do this?

Thanks!

I've had mine off once. The design is interesting, you twist the mirror and it comes off a post glued to the windshield. Depending on your options you may need to take the plastic housing off the mirror.

Since I have auto high beams there was a sensor in the housing that was quite bulky, at least for me. Which required me to remove the plastic housing

I cannot remember which direction it turned

YouTube is your friend. Many videos
