Having some problems with my 09 1500 quad cab. The rear drivers side window and rear sliding window are acting up.

Sliding window: tries to open but sounds stuck. I removed my back seat to get a better view, the cables are in the tracks and all seems to be in order from what I can tell. I know it's a one piece assembly but does anybody have an expanded view drawing of it or something. I need a better idea of how it works before I dig into it and try to fix it myself.

Rear drivers side window: moves up and down just fine but groans the last few inches going up. I removed the door panel and unbolted the actuator, then ran the operated the switch. The actuator operates and sounds normal. I tried to remove the inner door panel but didn't see how I could remove the window track, it seemed to be hanging up on it. Looking down inside I noticed the cable seemed to have dug in to the plastic "roller" on the top. Could this be the cause of the noise? I sprayed white lithium grease on every moving part I could reach but it didn't seem to help. Here's a picture of the top roller, sorry I didn't take one before spraying the grease.

Any help is much appreciated!

I was having the same issue with my 14 window. Mine will eventually un stick itself. I have never gotten to the bottom of it as it only happens rarely.

Sorry no answer but you arent alone out here. Hang in there brother.

The sliding window is "cable actuated", here's a pic of what it looks like. The cable run's up either side of the back of the cab and runs along the bottom of the window to the slider. Mine was doing it and my track was out of adjustment. Pull everything out and cycle it while watching to get a better idea what's going on.

Is the "groan" in the window frame or is it in the door? If it's in the window frame you could have a dirty window guide/seal. Is that plastic looking thing the roller or is it just jammed in there? It's hard to ell from the epic for me.

The picture is looking down into the door with the window rolled down. That is the top "roller" in the picture. The groan is coming from the track/mechanism. While actuating the window with the door panel off i can see the black plastic inner panel flex slightly (which I assume is normal even with the bolts tightened, it's just plastic after all) and the groan coming from behind it. I'm guessing the track or rollers are in a bind or gummed up but I can't get to them.

Since spraying the white lithium grease the sound is intermittent. I guess I just need to figure out how to get the inner panel/track apart.
