remote install issue

having some issues with remote start. truck already had wiring from factory and I already had key fobs with remote start. I added a hood latch with the ajar sensor and enabled everything in alphaobd. now i get hood ajar message when trying to remote start even with hood closed. any help appreciated

Go back into the hood latch with alphaOBD and change the resistance from 1000 to 500

If that doesn't do the trick, you got a wiring issue between the latch and the PCM

^^^^ What he stated, there's some options for the type of hood switch.
If I remember correctly, there's some wiring you need to make sure is in place on the BCM (under the dash, above the brake pedal) even if the wiring for the hood latch sensor is in place at the front of the truck.

Thank you I have tried bouth options for resistance. I also attempted to verify the wire for pin 11 was in its spot. I'm going to look at that more tomorrow and check the ground as long as the rain holds off for a bit

if you have a wire in pin 11 (double check which harness you are accessing on the BCM, I looked at the wrong one initially). then splice a wire to it, then ground the other end.

If there is not a wire coming out of pin 11, what's the best way to add a wire to pin 11?

It's getting colder out...I'm getting more motivated to enable my remote start!
