Remote key fob issue

I have a 2016 RAM 5.7 Tradesman Crew Cab, good truck. My remote key fobs quit working. This happened once before and I fixed it by disconnected the battery leads and shorting them together. That does work this time.

I would appreciate any insights into this before I start shopping for a fix.
