If you have a console, check the thin slot / pocket on the side. I have stuff mysteriously show up in that pocket (that you can't get your hand in) after searching everywhere around the seat and the floor.
I always lose a piece of paper that I search for hours and never find in those slots, LOL. It's always that (1) piece of paper that is important.

If a key fob was included with the aftermarket remote start, the first place to look would on or around the remote start box that will be zip tied under the dash, likely up by the parking brake area I would think. A installer will stick it where it is easy to get at, but out of sight.

BTW , when you can't reach stuff, this is what I have, the old pair I got when first started in electronics in early 1960, if these don't work, get the hammer out.

Nothing found under the truck but was impressed with how much space and how clean it was under there.

Did a deep dive under the dash, in the console, glove box, and seats but nothing.

Going to remove the rear seat backs and check there and if nothing, in the engine bay.

It is in the Cab somewhere for sure. Not in the engine compartment. If it was not in the cab, the safety system that keeps you from locking your keys in would not activate. On a vehicle that has no FOB hidden in it, roll down a window, if you stand right beside the vehicle, with the FOB in your hand, the doors will lock normally, if you reach just inside the window, the safety unlock will engage.

It occurs to me, if you can find somewhere with an RF reader, they should be able to locate the FOB for you.

Or, an RF spectrum analyzer with an unshielded test lead will work.

One might be able to hone right in on the exact location.

I've seen reasonably priced USB devices to connect to a laptop PC on Amazon.

If the OP knows anyone working in Network Operations at a cable company or related business.

Found it! It's just a basic 3 button but it'll do.

It had been placed under the carpet behind the rear DS seat.

It's nice being able to make use of the passive keyless entry.

Now to order a new fob with remote start and figure out how to enable it with AlfaOBD.

Thanks to all for the tips and guidance!

Congratulations on finding the missing FOB.

Be sure to read several of the threads on adding the remote start feature before buying new FOBs.

Many of the inexpensive FOBs have been found to be useless and required to be replaced.

Glad you found it. Issue with a FOB hid in the vehicle is your lock problem but also the vehicle never goes completely to sleep as it senses the FOB. If you leave it parked for a week or two, it can flatten the battery in cold weather.

If you add more FOBs, just buy an OEM FOB, your time is worth way more than what you will waste messing with the clones and knock offs.Even if they program, they kack in 12 months. I went that route once, never again.

Open that 3 button fob up first...dollars to donuts, it has the contact for remote start, you just need the pad

Then ground out the #12 pin on the BCM, have Alfa tell it they good latch is set at 500 ohm and remote start is present and Bob's your uncle

Definitely will be getting authentic OEM fobs

I'll check for the contact when I open up this fob to change the battery.

The Compustar components will need to be removed before I start enabling RS on Alfa. It has remote start but doesn't work well.

Many thanks again everybody for the excellent advice.

The circuit board unfortunately only has 3 buttons for lock, unlock, & panic so will be looking to get a couple new OEM fobs.

i wonder if the hood latch wiring/grounding is already in place due to the Compustar system having remote start?

That's too bad, I had the start button on the fob of my '17 SLT

I know nothing about compustar, they may use it, but I doubt it

Iether way, it is not necessary...you just need to trick the PCM into thinking the hood latch is there (granted, if it is, that is less work on your end)

OP, I see you found it. But for next time or anyone else do this.
Use AlphaOBD and under Radio Frequency Hub, select procedure Locate Learned Keys.

The procedure will indicate if there is one near or inside the vehicle and where.
It has a pretty detailed list of locations inside the cab. Try it sometime.
