Remote start

so I’ve noticed my remote start occasionally is not working. I have full tank of gas and no check engine lights or anything like that. So when I hit the button the horn sounds twice and the truck starts. Runs for about 2 seconds and then shuts off. Any ideas?

Just had this issue 2018. Hood latch sticking. Once I got it open, some lithium lube was just enough help for all to work properly.

If it's not the latch, the most common reason, and your battery isn't low, then the only thing I can think of is the fob, as McBroom stated.

If it was the FOB I would expect it to do nothing? It's communicating with the truck and starting it. The truck is then shutting itself down because it thinks something is wrong (latch or error code of some sort but obviously not showing up).

Car battery is new. And key fob battery is new. As far as the hood latch. Do I just pop the hood and close it? Is there some sort of adjustment or sensor on it?

I had that issue last year I think, found out it was the truck battery was going bad. Of course I found out in the worst stretch of winter that we had then!!! Luckily I was able to get from the store to the Auto Part store to get it tested and a new one bought.

Just installed my flash logic remote start about 1 week ago and now doesn’t want to start truck. Worked fine leaving home to come to work but now leaving work it won’t do anything. Everything else is working just fine no indications as to a battery going bad. Any thoughts?????????????????

I thought the hood latch was supposed to keep it from even turning over. If you have the hood up and your hands in the fan and it turns over....even if it starts for only 2 seconds your *******.
