remote start

Not sure what category this really fits into so am posting it here.
my son recently bought a 2012 ram. Bought as is didnt need much for safety but manifold bolt.
problem is with the remote start. he can press the button, the truck will honk but nothing happens. has anyone had any experience with this?

I know that the remote start won't work if the check engine light is on.

no check engine light and nothing coming up on odb reader. the battery was a little weak so we put in a new one but remote start still wont work

With my 16, you have to press the remote start button twice. Also won’t start if below 1/4 tank of gas.

yes, we press the button twice and the honks and signals flash but doesn't start

Are you sure his vehicle is equipped with remote start.

Check the wiring harness at the hood latch. I think there's a fuse also for remote start.
