Afternoon,
I bought a set of used fuel 20x 10s last year and now its time for new tires. They came with Toyo Open Countrys which are now agonisingly loud. I kept my stock 20s to use with my winter tires so these are only for summer use.
I can't stand AT tires. The fuel rims are 305 55 20 i believe. I'm looking for a nice quiet summer/fall tire and i don't want heavy AT tires. I would also like to go down in size if possible.
According to willtheyfit.com the 305 55 20 doesn't change the speedo atall compared to the stock 275 60 20s.
What size can i safely run on a 20 x10?
Thanks in advance

I use this calculator alot. Ignore the name it works and also gives you the circumference in mm which is what you need to correct speedo with alpaobd.

It's easy, you can put your current tire size in and any other sizes. It makes answers to your questions simpler to obtain

And it has a cool wheel offset calculator linked as well. Great site, IMHO. I use it a lot.

It sounds as if you are looking for a HT tire, one well suited for highway driving. I use the Toyo Open Country ATIII which is a hybrid tire and they are really quiet, especially compared to an M/T tire.

In your case, look at a 275/70R20 spec'd tire. There are soooo many tires so I can't recommend a specific brand or model but if you start looking, look for an HT.

Yeah ive used willtheyfit alot its awesome. I want to make sure if i go smaller that its still a safe size and not stretched etc. I would happily go back to a stock tire size if it was safe on a 10 inch wide wheel

Quietest highway tires are made by Michelin. 18" tires are a LOT cheaper than 20" but you have already bought the second set of rims.If it were me, I would sell the Fuel 20" and get the 18" Rims. That way you have more sidewall at the same diameter. Takes potholes WAY better, protects from curb rash and the tires are 35% cheaper than 20". On your 1500 do NOT run LT tires. The D series run smoother, quieter and last just as good.

275 wide tire is 10.8". Your wheel is 10" wide, they would not be stretched, yes it would be safe.
