Hello,
About a year ago I had my rear diff blow up because of the pinion nut issue that seems to prevalent across multiple years of these trucks.
I reported my issue to Chrysler, but I also filed a complaint with the nhtsa.
I had a back and forth with some representatives from the nhtsa.
They fairly recently issued a new recall with 2005 trucks.
From my communications with them, they indicated that they don't have much information regarding rear diffs blowing up for 2001-2003 trucks.
If you've had your rear diff explode, please report is to the nhtsa
