Been working on them for awhile and will be quite awhile till I can install them
Here's what I have so far
Satin black bezels, tinted reflector, color matched PDM turn signal bulb covers, mini h1 6.0 projectors, PDM and PXR black gattling gun 2.0 shrouds
Will be installed with 50w morimoto ballasts and 5k bulbs

Since they are actually my girlfriends Christmas present I'm going to try for pink devil eyes

I had some ideas for DRLs and secondary running lights/turn signals but that's getting ahead of myself

More pics to come as progress continues

Definitely a lot of pride in them
Another project that makes me wonder why I keep painting things though

Those are going to look great!

I'd advise you get some stupid bright turn signal bulbs (be careful on fit with that bulb cap) with the blacked out reflector bowl.

I did mine with high metallic paint and it still totally killed the output of the turn signals.

I painted that part a year ago and have been running incandescents since
I would feel better if they were brighter but they are still visible in the daylight

I ordered 5mm amber LED to put behind the reflector but they got lost some where in the mail

I'm often torn between the safety of bright indicators and the looks of dark evil lights.

Looks good bro, how much time you have into them?

I probably have 6-8 hours into painting the shrouds, most of that's waiting for paint to dry haha. It took forever to tale off the shroud too which sucked when I decided to redo the first one I did

Greg you really have me thinking about the extra turn signal/running lights again haha

How hard is it to pull apart the lights? I have my stock pair and I'm tempted to pull them apart and do basically exactly what you just did.

Ok do not pull the stock lights apart. Best thing to do is to get a new set of the THC headlights that Jeremy at Retro Shop offers and tear them apart. Now the reason I suggest this is so you do not go lightless for a while if you screw up the original ones.
The lights are rather easy to take apart if you have an oven that is large enough. Just turn the oven on to 230-250 degrees, let it warm up all the way. The stick one light into the oven on a cookie sheet (if the wife will let you have one) with a piece of cardboard on it. Leave the light inside the oven for 12-15 minutes. When you take it out it will be HOT so wear some good gloves. Start by prying one side open then grab the lens and the back part and just pry them apart. Not easy to do but that is how it is done.

I have other lights installed in the truck, I just have my stock ones sitting in a box doing nothing. I figure why not try to retro them myself.

They've been easy for me to open
I have opened two sets of factory 02-05 now, I think it took me 25 minutes to pull the one light open it up and switch out the headlight reflector bowl on Saturday
It can be a little intimidating the first time but you'll have no problem

Just like JJs thread, heat the oven to 250*, I put the rack as low as possible and use two small pieces of wood to set the let on, leave them go for 6 minutes , pull them out
Use a flat head to pry up the tabs, I want to say there is two on the top and bottom each and one on the grille side of the light, then pry it apart
Definitely wear gloves! Haha

Yeah I got a pair of those ove gloves. I might try it this weekend. I'll have to clean my lights first so that all that dirt doesn't get baked in.

Reason I say to not open your original lights is you might need to reinstall them in the future. You might get a set of the TYC headlights from Jeremy to open up though. They are a lot less expensive and you will not feel so bad if you break them when opening them up.

Less expensive than free? Haha

They've been sitting in the box for about a year now. Them serving no purpose, I see no reason to not do it.
