Not sure if this will be the correct forum for this thread, I'm sure it will get moved if need be.
My question is, have Do it yourself Motorheads, and independant shops made any push to back these type legislations? Farmers and other organizations have been pressing the issue because manufacturers have been proprietizing everything to make it where you have to spend thousands to them to conduct repairs.
Farmers are having the same problems as auto owners, in that all these computers need to be flashed whenever you replace anything. I remember decades ago, manufacturers were required to make parts available for a minimum of 7 years, seems such laws have fallen by the wayside and need to be brought back.
