As the title implies... Does anyone know if this is possible? Or if it's been done? I know there's a company that makes a rock slider with a power folding step insert but I don't feel like paying $2,500 for them. I can pick up the AMP Power Steps installed for $1,000 and I've seen sliders for $800.00ish.

Do you actually plan on sliding around on rocks?

Amps tuck up to the body above the frame so if they scrape you have some serious other items getting damaged.

Either way, if your gonna be rock crawling and you get any type of folding steps you should add a step override switch so they don’t lower if you open the door to look out and check for clearance.

I would like to know where you are getting the AMP Power Steps for $1000 installed.

I'm wondering too. The cheapest I found was $1289.00 for the steps and I installed them. Labor for that install is probably at least 4 hours time, maybe 3 at a shop that does a ton of them and has it down pat.

Why ya selling yours? I love mine

Man this is a exceptionally classy looking truck! Sorry to hijack guys. How do you guys like these AMP steps?

I am selling because I am upgrading to a 2500 (Diesel) as I now need to higher towing capacity. So basically everything on my truck is currently for sale (lift/wheels & tires/steps).

And as someone above said, I will be getting a pair for my next truck... whatever it may end up being. Out of everything I've done to my truck this was my favorite feature and have never once had an issue with them.

Where are you located you know for when you sell them, also if you are going to a 2500 ram they will install on that truck identical to the 1500

Love my amp steps, I’ll never own another truck or suv without them

Question for you, have you gone off roading with the AMP steps? Are there any clearance issues you've run accross?

I took mine off. If you hit em you’ll smash them. I removed and sold a while back. I’m sure if you’re a welder you might be able to fab something up to protect em. But you’ll lose a little clearance for sure. Somehow most of my damage has been to the bed Itself. There are a few spots where I’ve smashed my punch welds so I know the amp steps woulda been smashed. Oh I do wish I could have the amps and a real tough slider cause I miss those steps really bad.

Are you talking about the amp powerstep XL that don’t tuck under and leaves the rock slider look?
