I was thinking the same thing earlier. From a search, “Store it in a cool, dark place. Motor oils stay stable and have a shelf life of up to five years.”

See attached photo of the rebate form. I have done it in the past, followed all directions, sent an envelope through snail mail, and Shell sent me a check within 4 weeks. Happy camper. If you bought through the amazon link, all you will have to do is print out the invoice and include in envelope if sending via snail mail or a snippet of it if conducting rebate online.
