Not sure if this belongs in the exterior section or not...

2009 Ram 4x4, 6" lift with 35s

Time to do my brakes again, but this time I plan to replace the rotors. I am at 167,000 miles and they have some wear. Should I just go to my dealer and get the OEM rotors and pads? They have always worked fine. I just don't want brake dust.

I don't believe that I need any performance rotors (slotted, drilled, etc) unless someone can convince me why?

Yeah, they are getting a little thin now and feeling some grooves. Stock brakes lasted 130,000. Lots of Hwy miles though

oem brakes are pretty good if you don't mind paying the extra and how long they last go for it.

I just put Wagner premium rotors and Wagner OEX pads on my truck in the spring and couldn't be happier. The rotors have coating on them everywhere but the pad surface to help with rust. All 4 rotors and pads were $285 shipped from RockAuto.com

I have the Nakamoto rotors from 1AAuto and then have the Wagner OEX pads. I have found them to work well but they do seem to wear faster than I expected. I have a set of brembo pads ready to go on when these die. I believe brembo is the vendor the stock ones are although that can always change since oem is always rolling new part numbers.

These are for the Ram 1500 don’t listen to Amazon

I have used Raybestos rotors from Rockauto and Akebono pads from them as well, on all my vehicles. No complaints. There is a super trued and balanced Raybestos rotor but I never went that far. The regular ones are fine and look and work just like OEM. Akebono is a premium ceramic pad, to deal with dust, and their several US factories make a lot of the OEM stuff. They have a lifetime warranty. There is norhing special about OEM brake parts except the price.
