I'm thinking of having my stock rotors either turned or replaced with slotted and/or dimpled rotors. Has anyone done this and is there a noticeable difference in braking power even when towing? Thanks for any advice.

I've never used slotted rotors. Have turned rotors before but never noticed any real difference in braking power other than the pads being new. If you have a lot of miles on those rotors it may be best to replace them especially if you tow alot or if rotors are warped.

A good set of slotted rotors can help brake fade when used with the correct brake pads, but notice I say "good". We aren't talking about the cheap slotted ones you can get on ebay or amazon for cheap. During normal everyday braking you probably won't notice a difference, only when you're having to use heavy breaking often and would normally experience brake fade.

If it's a choice between cheap slotted rotors or turning originals, I'm turning the originals every time as long as they'll meet the minimum thickness requirements. The lower priced rotors have a tendency to warp prematurely.

I've done both. The last time it was just easier to order the slotted/drilled rotors and pads and have them waiting at the house when I decided to put them on. Instead of pulling all of mine off, taking them to get turned, waiting on that, and then going back home and doing the install. Plus the look better with my wheels that are pretty open and show a lot of the rotor.

I had mine turned. Didn't think anyone did it anymore as rotors have really come down in price across the board. The last few vehicles I've owned the rotors haven't been more than $25 for auto store replacements.

When my brake pads need replacing, I will be installing EBC Slotted Rotors, with EBC Yellowstuff Street Pads on all 4 corners.:naughty:
