So, I installed a RC 30" light bar on my rig. I purposely bought a higher end brand so I wouldn't have issues with it vs a knockoff brand on Amazon. To my surprise after only a week there was moisture and condensation in behind the lense. I ordered a replacement which I installed a little over a week ago and to my surprise it too has moisture and condensation in behind the lense again. I would assume this is not normal. Can anyone reply with the luck or not of RC light bars. I am beyond frustrated because they are sending out a 3rd one to me tomorrow and I have to swap again.

I have heard some people have had good luck with RC light bars. However, it is my understanding that they are only slightly better than your typical amazon bar.

Two bars that fail each within only a few weeks. That absolutely sucks. Might be worth trying a different company all together.

I have ran lights from the top brands (Baja Designs, Rigid Industries, VisionX, KC). Might I recommend the VisionX Curved XPL series? It will be a bit more money than the RC light but it will be worth it.

I use online vendor Alternativeoffroad.com. Hit him up during the week of Black Friday. He always has nice promotions and you will save a ton of $$$$ on true high end lighting.

I've used vision before on another vehicle and their lights are great quality.

How'd you manage to mount the 30" bar between your tow hooks? Did you made a different bracket to give yourself enough clearance between the hooks to mount the bar?

I have the same bar (the black version) in the same spot without issue for about 3 years now. NY snow and all, no issues. Even survived an accident where I got I new bumper. I got the light for half off through their ebay store too. Sorry to hear youre having issues, maybe give the 3rd one a shot?

Dang, that's unfortunate to hear. I know a few other members are running that bar and have had good luck with it.

I have the same RC 30" curved bar to go in as soon as I'm able to sort out the tow hook bracket situation.

As a standard practice I seal any lights I buy with RTV silicone. Headlights, taillights, LED bars & pods.
Never had any leaks or fogging.

Does anyone have the CAD file for the hooks and light bar mount? I'd love to run a 30 in bar on mine

Ok, last time, I got a lot of questions emailed to me about missing dimensions, so ill explain a couple things about general dimensioning and tolerancing standard practices.

To keep the clutter of the drawing to a minimum, features tend to be only dimensioned once. Some views will show certain dimensions. The same dimension isn't typically repeated in a different view.

For example: If view A shows a cubes length, width and height, view B won't show the length width and height.

Some dimensions are inferred, again to reduce clutter.

For example:In a drawing of a circle centered within a square, The dimensions are from a specific datum (point from which everything is measured). If the datum is the lower left corner of the square, then the dimensions will show the distance from the lower left corner to the top left corner, it will show the distance from the lower left corner to the lower right corner, it will show the distance from the lower left corner to the circle center along the X axis (bottom edge of the square) and it will show the distance from the lower left corner to the circle center along the Y axis (left edge of the square). It will also show the diameter of the circle.
(important: In the above example, if you need/want the distance from the circle center to any other point on the drawing, it is common practice to break out a calculator and calculate that information using the information in the drawing)

The distance from part edges to hole edges are not typically given, rather the distance from part edge to hole center is given. It is expected that if the machinist interpreting the engineering drawing need such a measurement, he will take the distance from the part edge to the circle center, and subtract half the diameter (radius) of the hole.

Symetric features are typically only dimensioned once.

Example: in the above circle in a square example. If the corners of the square are radiused, the radii of all for corners will be shown on one corner only. If any of the corners were meant to have a different radius, that specific corner will have its own seperate dimension.

That's why nerds always carry calculator!

The Adobe .pdf drawings are up on Grabcad.com:

I quoted a post from the member who originally came up with the tow hook brackets for the sport bumpers, and a link to his cad files.

https://grabcad.com/library/ram-sport-express-tow-hook-brackets-1

In order to get the light bar in-between the tow hooks, members have had to slightly modify the bracket design to allow the proper clearance.

I have the cad file I downloaded. Just need to find it. Upon further research the high end light bars have a "Gore vent". It is a gortetex membrane breather that won't let moisture in and let's it equalize with atmospheric conditions. I just ordered one and will install in place of the crappy breather on the side of the RC light. I called RC yesterday about my issues and was told to just unscrew the breather nut when ever there is moisture inside. That I ridiculous!!!! Also the breather nut that comes on it has holes in it that let water or moisture in. And I am going to fully seal the light with sealant also.

If you can manage to find the cad file, I would be so grateful if I could get a copy. Been dying to get that look on my truck
