Im looking at the Rough Country 4 inch Suspension for my 2012 Ram CC 1500 4x4. Ive been doing a lot of reading and comparing with other lifts and these seem like a really good product for a great price too. Ive always been told to buy it nice or buy it twice which means more $$$$$ up front or even more $$$$$ to fix it. I went to a local shop here is Rapid City and I asked them if they would install lifts, they suggested Sky Jacker for 1800 + 1200 for install. I brought up the Rough Country lift and they where very adamant about me not going with them because they have had a lot of issues with install and incorrect parts being shipped. I know a lot of you guys are running Rough Country now and I would like to know if you have had any issues and on the install if any issues came up like extra or unexpected drilling or missing parts.

The reason I went with the RC 4"lift was because lots of the RF members recommended the product. I'm happy with the lift and product but I did have a few issues with some of the parts. First was the front sway bar links, the set they sent where too long. So I had to call RC and have cut me a new set(few RF members and other dodge forums members had same issue). Second was the pinion angle on the front diff where the driveshaft meets diff. The angle was too high causing vibration and grinding noise at certain speeds. I personally didn't get noise but vibration yea. A buddy of mine whose not on this forum had a hard time trying to figure out what was the cause of the noise and vibration, took it to the dealer many times and had driveshaft even replaced till he pin pointed the problem to the brackets that drop the front diff. 3 brackets total. RC took care of the issues with no problems. Call up Mitch Pope over at RC he's really good and is up to date on all the issues. No missing parts and reasonable price though. Can't beat the warranty either

They wanted $1200 for installation? I know prices vary greatly but I'd say $500 to $1000 is the normal range.

This ^^^ is true.
I didnt want to say as low as $500, but Id say a good price (of course $500) is $750. $1000 max and they give you confidence in a great install.

Thanks for the help guys and Andrew I will be getting with you guys towards the end of the year to make a very large purchase...Wife already gave me the green light just need the money! I knew the install was way to high, I had a buddy put the same lift on his Ram (older model) and they only charged him 800. Im gunna keep looking for places that do installs that's for sure. Thank you all again for the help.

Hey Kyle, I just wanted to let you know that I spoke with Mitch Pope at RCX Suspensions today. He assured me that all the problems with the 4 inch kit, sway bar links, and diff drop brackets, have been taken care of and that you should not run in to any issues.

Junior81 had mentioned above about the issues with the 4 inch lift and I wanted to talk with them about it because it got me curious. Mitch Pope explained everything and was extremely informative. I would post everything he said but that would need a lot more room than what I have.
