Hello,
I have a 4th Generation Ram 1500 Classic 5.7 HEMI that I’ve noticed has started to idle rough and stumble around in park, especially after cold start, it’s a bit less noticeable after warmup. If I rev the engine it goes away initially but if I hold it around 1,000 to 1,500 RPMs it starts shaking as well. I don’t notice it in gear, zero issues or hesitation while driving.
I had a P0137 check engine light about a month ago, took it to the dealership, they advised all was well and reset the code, it hasn’t come back since. I took it there again this week for the continued rough idle but they stated it was normal and the engine is trying to run lean while at idle and in park but I’m not buying it.
I went out of my way and put 16 new OEM spark plugs and the O2 sensor that triggered the CEL which helped slightly but it’s still not right.
Is there something else I should look for or replace? Coils maybe? Master technician assured me everything was within normal parameters and there were no misfires.
(Not trying to be critical of anyone but please don’t tell me to go back to the dealership and make them figure it out, yes it’s ideal if the techs were competent but I’d rather fix it myself or at least give them more ideas of what it could be doing)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
