Good day, I hope everyone is doing well, anyway I have 2022 ram 1500 sport blackout 5.7 with 59,850 km, lately it’s been starting up rough in the morning and sometimes it starts then stops, like it’s being starved of gas, when it does start it high idles for about 20 seconds then runs normally, what could wrong with my truck, Im scheduled to bring it back to the dealership in the end of August, any information is greatly appreciated

Check all the intake manifold bolts as they are known to back out and cause temperamental issues (be gentle on the retorque as it's easy to bugger this up with too much cranking down on the bolts).

Check the PCV valve and clean it thoroughly (or replace it altogether)

Clean the throttle body (remove for thorough cleaning)

Run two bottles of Red Line SI-1 Fuel System Treatment in a tank of premium fuel. Run till empty and refill with premium. Do oil & filter change relatively soon afterward as well!

Pull the spark plugs and check them. Clean, regap, or just replace altogether if in doubt

Could there be a possibility of bad fuel gotten into your system?

How do you drive your HEMI regularly?
- Driving Miss Daisy
OR
- Driving Like You Stole It

They have adaptive learning and if you drive it like granny, that's what you'll get in terms of operational prowess, response and performance - "granny mode".

Similarly, the HEMI needs to be driven spiritedly on a very regular basis. They don't like granny mode ;)

Perhaps you have some internal build up that needs to be spanked out of your HEMI?

To add to Canucks post above, this thread has the torque specs and torque sequence for checking your intake manifold bolts.

Sounds like water in fuel but could be vacuum leak ref intake also. Good advice above.

@Wild one think maybe a “Heet” treatment may help just in case. U know how this ethanol stuff breaks down , just thinking out loud.

All i've got are speculations about the composite manifolds issues in regards to constantly needing to be re-torqued.You'd think after the first re-torque on a daily driver, they wouldn't need retorquing again, but that's not usually the case.Seems like every couple of oil changes the intake manifold should be re-checked

Blue locktite help?
They're already loctited from the factory. It doesn't appear to be an issue with the bolts backing out,as much as it seems to be the composite manifold changing shape.I was loctiting the bolts on the manifolds i had off, even tried red on 1,it still didn't help, and all the red did was make it harder to check the torque,so i gave up on loctiting them, now i wire wheel clean the bolt threads, and tell guys to stay on top of checking them every couple of oil changes

Thanks for the response i never thought of those issues but I'll check on the bolts and try and figure out how i can do a vacuum check, I don't thinks it's water in the gas as I love in a community of 1000 people we have to 2 gas bars her and never heard anything about bad gas, it might be my battery as I found it to be weeping acid on the posts I used baking soda to neutralize the acid

Where you are,you can probably get starting fluid/ether, spray it along the base of the manifold and around the throttle body when the trucks running,if it rev's up,you've found your vaccum leak,if you have one
