I have put new wheel hubs and rotors and pads on both sides - changed both outer tie rods - left side has a new control arm.

I am trying to figure out what else it could be. Maybe rack & pinion ? Maybe lower ball joint ‍♂️ I’m at a loss

Roughness at low speed and only during turning right is not a great diagnosis to try and visualize. Is it a rotational noise too, perhaps look at hub bearing and or c/v joints ? A tire also may be the culprit.

Rotational is a good explanation of it. I have not checked cv joints. I will try that next! Thank you guys!

Yes I paid for lifetime alignment, anytime I do something I take it in, I have put new wheel hubs and rotors and pads on both sides as well.

Now I did just take off the magnaflow that was on there and the deleted tail pipes and went back stock, omg what a difference inside the truck!

But it did not fix the feeling I have when at low speeds turning to the right I can feel a roughness (best word I can use to describe it) I feel it in the brake pedal and steering wheel.

But I am also wondering if it is these Detroit axle slotted and drilled rotors I got from them. Could be causing some of the feeling. (Might be a bad set)

Does your truck have a limited slip rear differential? Did you replace the fluid lately?

When you say 'roughness', are you referring to the feel in the steering wheel? Or something shaking the body?

Did you notice the 'roughness' before you replaced the hubs? Why did you replace the hubs, did you have a bearing go out? Generally speaking, if the hubs are SO bad of condition that the vehicle exhibits 'roughness', they have to be REAL bad. And they'd be making noise too.

What new hubs did you put on? Did you put a dial indicator on the new rotors after you installed them, to ensure they are running 'true'? Because it's possible either, A) the hubs you put on aren't true (meaning the rotors will be off). I bought a hub from OReillys this summer and it was off .005" at the hub face!! That's a lot. No way you'd get a hub to be true with that. or B) The rotors might not be running 'true'. That could possibly cause some roughness. But then if they weren't running 'true', you would probably feel it when you press the brake pedal aat highway speeds.

To be honest i am not sure on the limited slip differential, i would assume not. So Roughness or maybe vibrations i feel and hear from the front, feel is coming thru to the steering wheel. I have taking it to dodge, christian brothers and firestone and all have said it seems normal. Im like no it isnt normal to have that.

Yes i noticed it before the hubs and now after. When i would turn right i felt grinding or roughness thru the steering wheel. figured if i change one do the other. That feeling has mainly gone away - except at low speeds right now i can kinda hear it and somewhat feel it in the steering wheel.

I put on Detroit Axle hubs and slotted and drilled rotors and new pads all from them. I am not liking the slotted and drilled rotors not sure why i went with them. Going to replace them maybe after the holiday.

Im starting to think i could have gone too "cheap" maybe with the detroit axle products.

Sorry for the slow response. Thank you for your feedback as well!

The spec I've seen for max allowed rotor runout ( which would include the bearing hub) is .004".

I decided to buy the rotors from 1A Auto, know if those are any good? I think the ones from Detroit Axle are the problem, along with the hubs as well.

Full lock? Is your tire rubbing the sway bar?

No I do not believe it is hitting the sway bar.

So I have gone back and changed the cheap wheel hubs. So far seems to not have been the issue.

So far I have changed both wheel hubs, rotors, pads, tie rod ends, changed the upper control arm on the driver side.

Still have a feeling/sound - seems to only be felt at slower speed and slow turning. Kinda loss now what to do?

Let's see....have you rotated tires ...just to see? In case you have a tire with a wierd belt issue. Can you remove the front driveshaft and drive it ..try to duplicate? If it acts differently w/o any pre-load on the CVs then it's probably a CV. (check what xfer case you have and the correct way to drive w/o a shaft).

If it still persists, I'd wait till spring and see how things look. If you have the energy and REALLY want to get down to things, pull the wheels, CVs and driveshaft off the front. Take the outer CV's apart for a look. Give everything (esp the gears) a good visual. Then 'hand-feel' all the parts. My guess is you'll feel some 'clunkiness' with the wheel bearing. Wheel bearings can be in a state of failure for literally years before they get to the point where failure is immanent. And the symptoms generally increase as the wheel weight is loaded and unloaded.

I had the same thing in my Hummer where it would make a noise every time I'd turn into my driveway. It wasn't till I had the hub off the tk in my hand that I could feel the binding of the bearings. Even then it was slight. Im sure I could have driven another 6 months easily on it. ..but then again why? he he

But if you don't want to go to all that work, let it go a while. It'll either get better, stay the same, or get worse (most likely) ...till it the problems is front and center and unmistakeable.
