I have a 2014 2500 4x4 Cummins and when I turn my wheels to the left while driving I hear an intermitten rubbing noise and feel it through the floor board. I replaced the front left wheel hub assembly and U-Joint. Replaced brakes and rotor but noise is still there. Anybody else experience this?

turn your wheels all the way to the left
Then look at the inner fender at the rear of the drivers tire
look for any marks

Then look all over for polished metal, within the range of the tires arc

Thanks and I have done that and I am left at checking ball joints, tie rods and sway bushings since all of these have also contributed to the noise, according to several posts in several forums. I have the right hub assembly and U-Joint that I will be replacing also. Truck has 200K miles and all still factory parts so I might as well.

Is everything stock? Does it feel like a dragging or more of a popping? No rub marks on anything?

If it’s not popping it sounds more like brake or hub. If your hub is loose it could allow the brakes to deflect enough and drag. Is the outer stub in good shape when you changed the u joint? No wear marks and not loose in the hub

Yes it is stock. I have been very busy with work so I parked the truck. Last Friday I moved my tire and saw little movement so I took everything apart and got to the ball joints. The upper was still tight as I tried to move it but the lower I could use my finger and move it all around freely. Spoke to RAM Mechanics and they agreed that was the problem. Now, the POS is froze in there and after trying to use the ball joint tool to pop it out and all it did was push the top in. I have tried to heat the ball joint and axle to no success. The only thing left to do is to try to blow it out with a torch. BTW, there is no snap ring, verified that before I even attempted to use the joint tool. This has turned into quite the project for a 45.00 part. Any advice would be helpful. I also tried to use an Air Chisel with a flat round bit.

Dumb question but are you sure you’re not pushing the wrong direction?
