You guys think the front rotors and calipers from a 2001 1500 would work on a 2012 1500? I'm wanting to run 16's all the way around on my truck.

Because I like the old school TSL super swampers and they don't come in sizes for a 17. I want to run q78-16 swampers, 9.00-16 military NDT's, or q78-16 buckshots. Any ideas on how I could fit 16's?

Great suggestion![]()

IMO, 17's look small (I have them). 16s would be out-of-place tiny. I think Ram should start at 18".

it makes no sense to swap to smaller brakes and wheels just to have a tire you like. have fun stopping them big ol mudders with some midget brakes![]()
ive seen some third gens with 16's before. i believe it required shaving down part of the caliper, and only certain 16's would fit.

the guy wants old school TSL super swampers so he is looking for a 4x4 look and probably function. I don't think the OP cares, he just wants his 16's, and if he can get them it will be a great option for going offroad.
They were running the 16's in the front too? The rears won't be a problem but I was under the impression the fronts didn't have enough meat on them to shave and fit 16's. Do you remember what 16's they had? Any info is appreciated!
Probably just have to get somebody to customize what you have now to make them fit. I would like to see this btw.
the front calipers are the ones that needed to have the tops shaved down. rears fit fine. no clue which wheels worked and didnt work, i remember reading about this a few years back. honestly, i dont even know if this is even a possibility on the 4th gens. i have no idea if the brakes/calipers got bigger on the 09+. your probably going to have to get your hands on a 16" wheel and see how close it is.
