In 2008, when I bought my 2500 new, I bought and had installed by the dealer a Dodge stock set of aluminum running boards with NO GAP, and whose width protected the body from stones on the many backroads I use. In 12 years THERE HAS BEEN/IS NOT ANY RUST as those sideboards have protected the body 100% , in fact the only place I have rust is the box sides from the infamous "pinch joint" defectual construction in the fender well.

I also have a 1979 van short wheelbase that cost peanuts to certify and it had NO RUST. It had full side running boards I recently removed and there is NO DENTS from stones, paint chipped off, or RUST!

Three mechanics were shocked at the body condition and that is all because my late father oiled this van all the time with a spray gun.

My running boards are metal gray, look great and were bought to kill two birds with one stone with body protection being very important.

Never really thought about that issue with a drop step being in the way when doing repairs when using a hoist.

Just had new tires put on and the shop had to use extensions on the hoist to clear the AMP Powersteps.

I like that the HD2s allow cleaning the window or washing the truck I would think would be easier ... but I also like having it wheel to wheel so that I can get to things that have slid forward in the bed and when I have my fifth wheel it makes getting to the slider levers easier. Doesn't look like they offer HD2 in wheel to wheel length. Too bad because I do like not having the gap and the wider width.

I 100% agree! These need to be wheel to wheel and I'll buy a set.
Also, St. Charles huh? I used to live there before I moved to NM.

I have really enjoyed my Tyger Blade steps. They are solid with no flex. Hug tight enough to body to blend in/give low profile look while allowing useful step for those that need it (my wife and kids). Replaced my frozen in down position AMP steps with this.

Also for what it’s worth… they are extremely solid in construction. Example being if a Toyota Corolla pulls out of a parking spot while your turning in front of them and gets the front edge of their bumper when it meets the headlight caught on the edge of your steps… it will cause significant damage to them and only a tiny scuff on your step… don’t ask how I know…

I was just looking for something like this to replace the tube OEM ones. Low profile but still useful for assisting the climb in. Thanks!

Regarding the Rhinos, i emailed the company about wheel to wheel DB10's. They said their R&D department is way busy developing other products, but if they do get around to doing wheel to wheel tuning bars, it wouldn't be until 2022. I appreciated their honesty, but I feel like they're missing out on a bigger corner of the market. People buy trucks because they put things in the bed. And when you hit the breaks, where does everything go?

Point is, there isn't much out there for Wheel to wheel, and it's a shame. I suggest people do like I did and email Rhino and tell them now they should devote more time on wheel to wheel products. :)

They came out right after I bought a different style of Westins for my 2019 Laramie.
I knew they would be my next steps.
