Hello all, first post here. Just got my 1500 yesterday. I was after advice or opinions on which after market running boards / nerf bars to go with. I believe Dodge use Mopar. My truck is black and I certainly want chrome with black pads. I see Lund have a good range. They have a 5" oval set actually on sale right now. Appreciate any advise. I need a Tonneau cover also but I will do a little research and post a separate thread. Thx

I have the Lund 5" oval stainless on my 2500 MC. They are wheel to wheel and look great. Straight steps but slight turn in at the front with no plastic caps on the ends.

Thank you Skrap. I feel a bit silly now having posted this as there are hundreds of them out there. Its pretty much personal choice isnt it. Some of them clearly are a little cheaper than others but you cant go too wrong. But thank you I do like the Lund as you have on yours.

I have the 4" oval Tuff-Bar nerf bars. Ran me a tad under $200 for the pair. I'm really happy with them. Easy install, look great and do their job.72fdcc4fedc92daed833d76b32db6f1c.jpg

Got them from CariD website. Tuff-Bar® 5-45653 - 4" Black Powdercoated Oval Straight Tube Step Bars

There is a chrome option as well for an extra $60 I believe, yes with black pads.

+ 1 to all the options you were already offered above. All of them are great and looks really nice on the Ram. Here is a link to the Tuff-Bar nerf bars JustMove mentioned, if you want to look at them closer: Tuff-Bar® - Dodge Ram 2010-2015 4" Oval Straight Tube Step Bars
Also you can check Go Rhino running boards. They are available in different styles and have innovative, patented step and mounting system. You can check our post about them to learn more: http://www.ramforum.com/f154/go_rhino_running_boards_your_truck-65328/

I bought some Westin Platinum 4" Ovals last fall. I really like them. They stick out just enough for me to use easily without having to search for the step when I get out. I think the 3" steps are too small, in my opinion. I got the polished stainless (lifetime warranty) and they have the black step pads on them. I paid just under $250 from AutoAnything.com. Fast shipping and the best deal I could find.

AMP Research Powerstep. It's wide, it's sturdy, doesn't take away ground clearance, and kids love it! Favorite mod on all my trucks!

I went with Raptor 5" stainless tubes...mainly because of the posted 500lb rating. So far I have had zero issues and they are rock solid!

I went with 4" oval chrome uGuard for $240 on father's day sale. Whatever you go with, I prefer the look of the ones that curve in towards the truck like the picture Eagle chief posted over the ones that look like a straight bar
