It might be because your exhaust was leaking?

I think I read a post on a mopar forum I'm on about someone pulling the heads off their 360 that had been rebuilt about a year prior. The valves were white like yours, but the pistons/cylinders looked good. I think someone else said it was from the ethanol in the gas?

Good point.... but wasn't too bad of a exhaust leak. I think I may go buy a bore scope and look at the other side and pull the plugs

If you have an android phone, they make borescopes that hook up to it. Heck of a lot cheaper than the real deal.

Uh, what? Why would ethanol do that? Most modern cars run better on E10 than they do on 100% gas.

I've fixed many Hemi exhaust leaks and the exhaust valves always seems to have that appearance to them.

If you are running a stock program, I can guarantee your engine is running lean.

This is 100% true. Factory programming is as lean as possible. That doesn't mean it's hurting you're engine though. All about emissions.

Ethanol is fkin garbage and will take the industry down soon. Stop drinking gov't koolaide people please. Read this and recognize how fkin Hard Obama Admin screwed us with ethanol. If George Fkin Washington was still alive, he would hunt down every fkin **** sucker that even suggested the words gov't mandate. Wake up peps, there is a reason why auto manufacturers wont warranty an engine that gets even 15% Ethanol. The founders of this country went to war because of a tax rate, they would be turning over in their grave if they would see how powerful and oppressive this gov't is. 15% is dangerous but 10% is ok? LOL yeah right.

Im running a tune. Once i pull a spark plug i will see if this is existing prior to tune or current effects. Tune and plugs went in about the same time.

How would an exhaust leak do that? I only ask because I just notice I have a leak.

It will lean out the motor cause the O2 can get a faulty reading changing how the engine fuels based on that info.

An exhaust leak before the o2 sensors will actually cause the engine to run rich.

The O2 sensors read the extra oxygen and the PCM interprets it as a lean condition. Causing the PCM to add fuel.

Picture of the exhaust valve looks normal to me.

Depends on engine temp and intake air temps, but yes you are correct in many cases

How so? I can't really think of any scenario where an exhaust leak will cause the engine to run lean. At least not on a Dodge speed density fuel system.

Possibly. But it's hard to put faith in that measuring tool. But I would still have it checked out

It rocks on my flat welding table too... this was just a good way to show the gap in a picture. Also not the only tool i used to check how even the surface was.

Throw them in the garbage and install ceramic coated headers. Stock manifolds are garbage.
