Just crawled under the truck to check the spare pressure (winter prep) and I noticed it's pretty rusty. (see link) I'm wondering if I should drop it and sand the rust off or if this is just normal for the 1500's. It's not a full spare but that's a different story.

Rust doesnt look bad compared to what mine was. I opted to replace the wheel and tire because it was original and 10 years old and I found an insane deal on a 20 inch spare wheel that was mislabeled and sold at like a quarter its actual value. If your tire is still good I think it's fine.

Thanks, any issue with fitting a 20 under there?

I have the full size spare. It's on a 20" rim. Only difference is the steel rim as the winch doesn't fit in the centre bore of the aluminum wheels.
