So I was backing into my garage and the garage door did not open all the way. I backed into it with my satellite antenna (Shark fin) and it pulled out and broke at the connector wire. Not the part that connects to the shark fin, but like a foot down the wire at the connection point (Specifically the yellow connector). Anyone have any insight on how to fix this. Can I just buy a new male connector and cut it and splice it on?

Unfortunately no, you will need to run a new line. I am not sure if there is a junction or not. I do know you could pick up a cheap antenna for $15 and buy a FARKA adapter and plug into the back of the radio.

Actually curious on this... try it and see if it works, but all MECP training states once the wire is damaged, the whole thing is toast and that there is no repairing it.

I wrecked one in a 2011 genesis coupe right at the damn fin when I wrapped the roof. I lost GPS and XM. The connector pulls straight down, its not screwed in come to find out. I was lucky enough to have 1/2 inch of wire left on the connector and was able to make a jumper to piece it back together. Then heat shrunk and wrapped it to keep it from bending. Worked fine to my surprise. The factory fix was replacing the entire xm wire from the headunit to the back roof. Easily a $200 part.

Might not work in the ram. The coupe wire was very basic looking. Single wire, not shielded or fancy.

Well, I fixed it last night. I had to take the headliner down a bit by removing the driver side rear corner interior piece and the passenger side. I could then access the connectors which had just pulled out. I simply jammed it back together and put a some electrical tape around it to hold it in place. Worked like a champ. Thanks for all of your input. The hard part was I also had to bend the mount system back to straight and also put some touch up paint on the roof where it left a scratch as it bent foward.

Glad it worked! I will keep this in mind in case I have a customer that comes in with a similar issue.
