Ok so I got my vivid installed on my 07 ram. Went for a drive and everythime I do a WOT pull it hesitates on the 1-2 upshift. Only at WOT. I tried registering on the superchips forum but it won't send my activation email so I figured I'd try here!

What are your WOT RPM shift points for 1-2 AND 2-3 ALSO Rev Limiter?

A hesitation or a bump, than shift? When you hit the shift, reduced TM will feel sort of like a bump right at the actual shift. Almost like it's lunging forward into shift. Best description I could give you.

Something you can try to see if there is a difference. With the SC canned tune we have no idea where SC set the shift points and rev limiter. With that I suggest re-tuning, this time choosing the advance tuning option instead of "quick tune". Within the advance tuning option you will be givin a choice where to set the limits. Use 91 Performance, Set the Rev Limiter at 6400, set WOT 1-2 shift at 5900 RPMs and then set WOT 2-3 at 6000, and tire size accordingly. The reason for this is two things, first to create a large seperation between the rev limiter and the 1-2 WOT shift point avoiding bouncing off the limiter. Secondly, I remember a few years back there were some other people with a slight hesitation and the cure was to set 1-2 WOT RPM Lower than the 2-3 WOT RPM, don't ask me why but it worked. This is all I can help with and I'll be willing to bet it's more than Superchips themselves can give you. :)

Haha thanks! Yeah I was reading some of the stuff on SC forum and they didn't seem to help much! I went into the advanced features earlier to see what was what. Looks like the rev limiter was set at stock. What should it be adjusted to? And as far as wot shifts should I adjust as you said or was that just to test it? I think the rev limiter stock is where it was set to shift at. Idiots if you ask me!

As stated, set rev limiter to 6400, well above what you're going to set WOT rpms 1-2 @ 5900 & 2-3 @ 6000. See if the "hesitation" you speak of go's away

Are you sure you're tuned? A quick tune has a higher default rev limit.

The quick tune that I received after doing the initial updates had a stock rev limiter set fir the 91stuff tune. Also I saw somewhere there was a cai tune and a 93 octane tune but see neither on the program screen

That's odd. Advance tune the truck. Use Scott's rev and shift settings posted above. Let us know how it goes.

For the Ram truck application at least for 3rd gens the CAI tune and 93 octane does not apply, that is for different applications or vehicles.

did you purchase the advanced trans tuning addon? With that you can change Torque Management and it makes a significant difference, you can really feel the shifts.

No I did not get the advanced trans tuning yet. I did get the 91 advanced tune done this morning before work. The stock value kn the rev limiter was where the problem was. It was set at 5800 and first gear was 5900 so that was where the hesitatation was coming from. Shifts nice and smooth now! I did notice it seems like my turn signals slowed down after this program though.....

Nice!

After you become comfortable with the tuner, you should check into the advanced trans options. Good stuff right there. :)

Mine did too, no worries.
Glad we found the issue, like Sil said the advance trans tuning will be next, that will blow your mind.

Directory Listing of /superchips/

These are pre-made shift schedules for the advance trans tuning, read the FAQ Flashpaq 3865 Word Doc in this link. That's tons of information to help you decide if trans tuning is right for you. Trans tuning WILL put your grin on and transform your truck into a another animal.

So you are running one of the pre made schedules in the link or the superchips pre made that comes with the trans tuning upgrade?
