I installed the UBD radio from infotainment and I used Alfa to get the units to show up on the menu but when I try and change it from Celsius to feirenhiet it just reverts back . Also I have noticed my AC compressor running no matter what the setting . I am about to return it and get a UAQ radio instead . Other than those 2 issues it's a awesome radio .

UBD as in a 10.1 UConnect 5?

Edit: disregard, I was thinking UBG...

I’ve installed a UBD in a 2017 sport with auto/dual HVAC, heated seats, steering controls and everything seems to work ok although cabin temperature seems a lot hotter than auto setting. @Ramshig when you say AC compressor is always on do you mean the AC light is always on in the dashboard? Yes the temp is displayed in celsius but I’m Canada so it’s ok.

My AC compressor clutch was engaged while auto off and AC light off so essentially I didn't have vent air it was always being conditioned . I ended up figuring it out by adding a humidity sensor to the system and all works good now Mike from M2 mods hooked me up with everything I needed for the HVAC . I ended up buying a UAQ radio everything was in metric until I played around with Alfa OBD and now everything works as it should .

Ok I don’t see my AC clutch engaging but it’s probably because it’s -11 Celsius outside. Do you guys think I should try the temperature sensor from a 2023 to see if inside temperature would be closer to what I set it at on auto temp ?

I don't know if this helps or not, but I reinstalled my original radio and changed the units to metric, then removed it and put the new UBD radio in. The temperature sliders worked great on the touchscreen and I was able to change it with the physical buttons on the dash instead of just getting the HI/LOW setting. The downside is now all of my gauges are metric for the instrument cluster as well. I put the original radio back in and changed the units to US, then reinstalled the UBD. Temp sliders don't work and the physical buttons just change it to HI/LOW again. Temps are still in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. I tried using alpha obd to change the radio country, but it keeps giving me an error. I'll find the exact error and post it, but something like it can't perform the change.

When I try to change the Radio configuration for Override Country Code from FCM: Enabled I get the error Condition(s) can not be verified, procedure terminated. Anyone have any ideas how to change the radio country code with alphaobd and OBDLink EX?
Has anyone found a fix for this im having the same issue.

@Jimmy07

I’m working on a radio swap in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited WK2. The Jeep originally had the RA4 / VP4 8.4 Uconnect radio.

I installed a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Uconnect 5 radio, part number P68581664AF. The radio powers up and mostly works, but I’m having a few issues that seem related to vehicle configuration / market / units.

Current problems:

  • Radio shows outside temperature in Celsius
  • Cluster/radio seem stuck in metric units
  • Climate screen only shows HI / LO
  • Physical HVAC buttons still work
  • If I change unit settings with AlfaOBD, the settings appear but will not save
I already tried plugging the original 2015 radio back in, changing the units to US/imperial, then reinstalling the UC5 radio. The new radio still goes back to metric/Celsius.

My question is:

Has anyone figured out how to make a newer Uconnect 5 radio from a Pacifica/Ram/etc. save US units and work correctly with climate controls.

I’m wondering if this is a radio market code issue, proxy alignment issue, BCM configuration issue, or if the radio needs to be programmed/flashed for a different vehicle.

Any AlfaOBD, dealer tool, WiTech, engineering menu, or proxy alignment advice would be appreciated. Thank you

This may be an issue with your older BCM. You can connect directly to the radio with AlfaOBD and look for settings there too.are you using the 10.1" screen?

I am using 8.4in screen. The only thing that looked interesting in the radio was the market configuration settings which was be default set to 0. I set the byte to 2 restarted and tried 0 again but nothing changed on my end. I've been trying to read the radio under different profiles like as a 2024 Pacifica as well as a RAM and as a Jeep. I've done the same with the BCM. I attached an alfaobd log that I pulled from the radio. Thank you for your help.
