Sensor or component

I have a 2018 ram 2500 and last night the ambient air temp said -33 degrees. I am wondering where this sensor is on my truck. I have searched and some say behind the grill then others say driver mirror. i am going to check about the driver mirror when I get off today but I thought I may have found it last night. There is a sensor or electrical component of some sort that is located on the passenger side. it is under the hood but up on the cowl above the firewall. I thought someone here might know what that sensor is if it is not the ambient air temp. It has a red slide clip on top that slides back to be able to disconnect but I still could not just pull it out easily so I decided to do a little research first.

I am going to check to see what is there on mine after work. If it is there that is good but I am still curious what the other sensor I found is for. I am going to get a picture of it and post on here to see if someone knows what it is.

Update it looks like the ambient air sensor is in the driver mirror just like the pic above.
So what is this that I found and was messing with on the passenger side.

So is that little deal in the end if it just a cap to keep dirt out I could not get it to come out.
