Ok , this is rather long in its explanation. 2015 Ram , 2500 w/ air bags rear. Cummings. 4 WD
While returning west of Albuquerque NM this faithful truck decides to what I think was mesh into4 wheel at 70mph. pulled over, ser4wd light on. turned off ignition, stated up went forward, went backward.
no noise however light stays on. Being 100 mile from Albuquerue made some calls to couple dealers etc. Of course nobody knew without putting it on a computer.
Drove it to destination for the night. un hooked, and ding the light goes off. 4wd works etc.
hook back up the next morn, within 5-9 miles ding , the light is back on. ser4wd. no noise from transferr case so I drive it. This happened 2 more times on the return trip east. when it goes off, all is fine, when it comes on 4w not engage at all.
Morning of final drive home, the ser4wd light is off, stays off . slight grinding occurs about 100 miles out from home. It last a few seconds (15) but I drive.
Get home, it goes to the dodge house, Nothing happens, been there aweek, mechanic takes it home etc... 35000 miles its not wore out, certainly.. many rough roads in NM on I 40.
Cant really run up and down the road with this going on .........
