Service Trailer Towing System

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Quad w/5.7 Hemi.
A few months ago I added an after market Intergraded Brake Controller and switch. Could never get it to wrong. I replaced the Controller with an OEM controller but did not replace the switch (kept after market) switch in place. I also did not reprogram the system with Alfa OBD, I just left the proper changes made previously in place.
New controller is now giving Service Towing System error message and brakes on Trailer do not activate.
Your Opinion: Is the Switch the culprit or do I need to reprogram with Alfa OBD? Or both?

I had that message plus trailer brakes disconnected. I found the problem to be one of the electrician lines on the trailer that run inside the axle was warn thru the insulation. Not a truck problem at all.

Aftermarket electronics are a crap shoot on Rams. They like OEM for any electronic components. I tried the aftermarket "OEM" brake controller and switch. No joy. OEM worked 1st shot.

What changes did you make in AlfaOBD when you did the IBC and switch? Maybe you missed something.
