Undercover Ultra Flex here .

I was told to expect a splash near the tailgate and maybe a little in the front corners.

Here are pictures of my recent trip through the car wash. I got exactly what I was told to expect. I can live with that.

You are having far better luck than I am with the Ultra Flex. I'm on my second one now, and both have done the exact same thing. Sometimes after a rain, my bed will look like yours. Other times, the entire carpeted underside of the cover is drenched and drips water everywhere. The carpet gets so wet that if I open the cover, the water literally pours off when the panels are vertical.

Prior to the Ultra Flex, I tried an Extang Solid Fold and didn't like it. Returned to Amazon.

With the Ultra Flex, customer service from both Auto Anything and Undercover has been great. Instead of trying a 3rd Ultra Flex, I'm going to try a Bakflip MX4, which is what I wanted in the first place. At least if that leaks, I won't have to deal with soaked carpet.

Well that sucks. I bought mine local and paid a little extra to have it installed so I didn't have to deal with any issues.

My previous tonneau cover was an Undercover Classic one piece. That thing did not leak one drop but I like the versatility of this trifold.

I keep everything in my bed inside plastic containers anyhow so it is not critical that everything is dry.

Any idea what is causing the problem?

I wish I knew what was continuing to cause the problem, since I really don't feel like changing out the cover again. The MX4 is going to be my 5th cover.....2 Extangs and 2 Undercovers. The issue with the Solid Folds was totally different - one showed up broken, and even after getting it replaced, I just didn't like it.

I really have no idea how the entire underside of the panels is getting that much water. Even if the seals to the rails were completely gone, you'd think the majority of the water would run down the inside of the bed sides. When I sent Undercover a video of the first one, they just said it had to be a defective cover. Assuming that's correct, my current replacement has the exact same defect.

It's called surface tension. You have ~24 square feet of cover catching and gathering water which then flows to the edge, curls under and flows right under the lip. In reality, most of the water actually does flow away... 1" of rain on your cover is ~14 gallons of water.

Extang Tri Fold. Put it on new in 2012 and no issue with leaks. One issue I do have is if I don't clean snow off top of tailgate it will freeze the cover to the tailgate so I can't open it

I have a Crew cab with an ARE LSX hard Tonneau it's been through the Az monsoons and snow with no leaks. Also had a LSII on a 2002 Dakota Quad cab 250,000+ miles with no leak issues wrecked in Aug. 2017. My RAM purchased in Aug 2017 94,000 now has 128,000 so we use this truck for traveling. gives us a big trunk.

Keep em coming lads.

I have been away so I haven’t made a decision yet on my next move.

I do like the loom of the diamond backs. They are getting some prices for me now.

I will keep you posted as to what direction I head

I'm considering the Truxedo Truxport for my 12 Ram. I'm wondering how water tight it is. My husband has one on his 14 F150 and it's pretty good at keeping his bed dry and I'm wondering if the cover fits the Ram as well as his does.

I use a Extang Tonneau. Its very similar to the backflip, but does not leak unless parked in a pouring rain.
