I recently purchased a Superchips 3845 flashpaq and am waiting for it in the mail and the more I read into it I see topics on shift points on my automatic tranny. I use my truck as a daily driver generally in city with little highway and was looking to maximize mpg. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a description or instructions on how to program shiftpoints or what I should pay attention to for what I want. I plan on using the chip to run 91 Octane in Performance mode.
I generally notice that when on the highway for any type of small incline or increase in speed it requires me to downshift. I was wondering if this deals with shift points? Could I possibly have the shiftpoint earlier for a that last gear so it sits at a higher RPM getting more power and not needing to Downshift for the slightest incline.
Also any information on the shift firmness and what is best for the tranny would be appreciated. As I stated before I do no towing and generally use it for daily driver with occasional highway.
Last thing. I also see something saying fan adjustment. Would this be good adjust for the 4.7l due to the overheating problems I read about occasionally.
Thanks
